BE 7.2   Money Skills: Vocabulary - Entrepreneurship

 

(1) entrepreneur (n)    – a person who organizes a business or grows an idea and is  

                                     responsible for its success

                                   “Bill Gates is the world’s most famous entrepreneur.”

                                     (adj) entrepreneurial

 

(2) come to mind         – be remembered or recollected 

     (verb phrase)            “I was asked if I had ever heard of RJX Inc., but nothing

                                      came to mind.”

                                     related phrases: bring/call to mind & enter one’s mind

 

(3) daring (adj)             - (of an action or a person) adventurous; fearless

                                     “I felt that it was very daring when that employee criticized

                                      our boss in front of everyone at the meeting.”

                                      (v) dare

 

(4) own the moment       - to take charge and act when there is an opportunity and be

     (verb phrase)               successful because of this action

                                      “Our Own the Moment strategy will allow us to navigate a

                                        fairly dynamic global marketplace.”

(5) inspire (v)                – to give someone an idea about what to do; to make         

                                        someone want to do something
