Food That Look Like Body Parts

Mother used to say, “Eat all your vegetables because it is good for you,” but she never really said specifically why it is good for you. When it comes to certain foods, nature has given us a clue to which food is good for which body part.  Here are some food items that peculiarly look like a body part and it helps that body part too!

A sliced carrot. What do you think it looks like when we slice a carrot? Yes, the human eye! According to scientists, eating carrots increases blood flow to the eyes., so you will have better vision.The orange color in carrots produce a chemical that reduces the risk of cataracts, a disease that blinds people.  

 


 

 

A Tomato. Does it look like a heart to you? A tomato has four chambers and is red in color. The heart also has four chambers and is also red in color! Research has shown that tomatoes are an excellent source of food for the heart because they are loaded with essential nutrients  for humans.

 




Who loves grapes? Grapes resemble the lungs that help humans breathe. Lungs are made of branches of airways that allow oxygen to pass to the blood stream in our bodies. Eating plenty of grapes in our diet reduces the risk of lung cancer and asthma.





 


What do you think a Walnut looks like? A tiny version of the human brain! The brain is divided into the right and left hemispheres. Even the little wrinkles in the walnut are similar to the surface  of the brain. Scientists believe that walnuts help the brain function faster and prevent memory loss.


Do you know what this is? A kidney bean! It looks almost exactly like the human kidneys, which help keep the blood clean in the body. If you eat kidney beans your kidney is getting a variety of minerals and vitamins.





Don’t you think celery look like your bones? This vegetable specifically target bone strength. Bones are made up of 23% sodium and celery has sodium in it. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, making them weak. So eat your celery!






Don’t you ever wonder why monkeys always seen so happy and love playing around. Its probably due to all the bananas they eat! Eating a banana  will cheer you up and can put a smile on your face. This popular fruit contains a protein that, when digested, helps send a signal to your brain to feel happy.  







What do you think a mushroom looks like? When sliced in half. it resembles the shape of the human ear. Mushrooms improve hearing abilities, since they contain Vitamin D. They are also healthy for bones, especially the 3 tiny bones in the ear that helps us hear sounds.







The Ginseng root looks like a human body, and it is said to be the magical cure for nearly all illnesses, therefore, a popular alternative to modern medicine. It is valued highly in Asia where the most expensive Ginseng plant ever purchased costs $400,000! That is roughly the same price as buying 1,300 Playstation 3’s.
