Conditionals are all about the word 'if.' Real conditionals talk about possible situations and results.
Conditional sentences have an 'if' clause and a main clause. The 'if' clause tells us the condition or event, and the main clause tells us about the result.
Talking About Possibilities
We can use real conditionals to talk about things that might be possible. We can do this in the present tense by using: If + present, (then) + present
Just like with other clauses, we can leave out the 'then' in these conditionals.
We can talk about future possibilities, using either the present tense as shown above, or by using the future:
If + present, (then) + future
As you learned when you first learned about present and future tenses, you must choose different tenses depending on the content of your sentence.
If he likes hamburgers, he might like this restaurant.
If it snows tomorrow, I'm not going to work.
If you finish your test early, pass it to the teacher.
