Present Simple
Present Simple is a tense that we use to talk about repeated actions that happen regularly or permanently. We can also use it sometimes to talk about future actions. Here are some ways to use the Present Simple:
Present
Actions you do every day, weekend, week, month, year etc.
I take the dog out for a walk before I get ready in the morning.
I do my research at the university library because the public library doesn’t have enough academic resources.
Actions that are always true.
It takes about one hour to cycle around the park.
Fusion cuisine is a mix of food from different countries or cultures.
Future
There are two uses of the Present Simple in the future.
Actions that are fixed to a certain time.
The Air Canada flight from Vancouver to London leaves at 1:10 pm every day.
Actions in dependant clauses with time words (if, when, while, after, before, as soon as etc.)
I’ll think about going if the price goes down.
When he realizes that he has made a bad decision, he will regret it.
Before I go home, I should stop off at the grocery store to pick up some chips and salsa for tonight.

Important to note
- We use the auxiliary verb ‘do’ to help form negatives and questions.
- It is necessary to use an ‘s’ with he, she and it.
- If the verb ends with ‘o / ss / sh / tch / ch / zz / x’ you need to add ‘es’
