Review of the Passive Voice
We can often make English sentences in both the active and passive voice:
Someone stole my computer. (active)
My computer was stolen. (passive)
When I left work, a person was cleaning the garage. (active)
The garage was being cleaned when I left work. (passive)
To make sentences in the passive voice, use be and the past participle form of a verb.
The past participle form of regular verbs is ...ed:
- called
- looked
- talked
- repaired
- studied
- fixed
- washed
