Use the present perfect to talk about an action or state that happened in the past. The time can be a long time ago or quite recently. Here are a few examples of using the present perfect to talk about experience.
I've seen that movie before. It's so scary!

We've been to the USA twice.
He hasn't fallen asleep yet.
Relating to the Present
Sometimes we use the present perfect to talk about connections between the past and the present. To do this, we use adverbs like:

- yet
- still
- so far
- ever
- never
