Editing is a very important step in the writing process; unfortunately, it is extremely difficult for students to edit their own writing. It is personal to them and when they read it, it makes perfect sense to them because they understand what their own intention was when writing it. That intended meaning often is not expressed clearly enough for someone who has not been involved in the writing process, however. You will see a number of sentences taken from the reading on Homelessness that have been modified so they now contain errors. Without looking back at the original text, you'll need to work with your group to find and correct the errors in Exercise 1. These errors could be in spelling, grammar, logic, word choice, and formatting.
