The polar regions are full of ice and snow. There are many unique animals living here. But, there are less and less of these unique animals. Do you know why?

It is because of humans, and climate change. The polar regions are melting. There was a lot of ice before.  Now, the ice is getting smaller, and smaller.

Our cars, factories and machines make the air dirty. The dirty air is warming the Earth. Now, it is getting too hot and the ice is melting.

Life for polar bears is hard today. Polar bears eat seals. Seals live on ice. With no ice, seals find other places to live. With no ice, polar bears have to swim a long way to find animals to eat. Many polar bears cannot find food. The polar bears need our help.

Life for some walruses is hard today. Walruses need ice to keep their babies safe. With less ice, fewer babies are born. Fewer babies means fewer walruses. The walruses need our help.

Life for arctic foxes is hard today. The Arctic is getting warmer. Other foxes can live there now. Other foxes hunt the same food as the arctic foxes. There is less food for all the foxes. The arctic foxes need our help.

Many polar animals need our help. How can we help the Arctic? How can we stop climate change? We need to change our habits to help the Earth. Reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as you can. Reduce your use of cars. Ride your bike to school.

Reuse materials as much as you can. Did you buy a bottle of juice? Reuse the bottle for water. Reuse the bottle to plant flowers.

Recycle plastics if you use them. Recycle your clothes if they are too small. Recycle food containers. Recycle everything you can!

There are many small changes you can make to help the Earth. What other changes can you think of?
