Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a review of Grammar - Making Comparisons #2.

Students work with a partner. In Part One of this activity, students first think of answers to the questions below about their cell phones / tablets. They may need to do some quick research on the Internet to find their answers. In Part Two, students ask and answer the questions in a discussion. Finally, in Part Three, students compare their phones by making sentences using not + as + adjective + as or doesn't / don't have as much / many ... as.

  1. How old is your phone? When did you get it?
  2. How many apps do you have on it?
  3. How much memory does it have?
  4. How big is the screen?
  5. How much did it cost? Was it really expensive?
  6. How many photos do you have on your phone?
  7. How much music do you have on your phone? A little? A lot?
  8. Is your phone really fast? Pretty fast? Kind of slow? Slow?
  9. Do you think your phone is really cool? Pretty cool? Kind of cool? Not cool?
