Canada has a prime minister, who oversees the government in the country. Just like other countries that were British colonies, Canada is still technically associated with the royal family in England.
The Queen of England doesn't actually have much real power. The royal family is more symbolic. Britain has an elected prime minister and government.
Many countries in the world are still technically under the Queen's rule, like Canada and Australia. These are called Commonwealth countries.
