This exercise is a follow up activity to Use of English 9-2 & Grammar 9-3.
For your Unit 9 Writing assignment, you are going to write two paragraphs about driving conditions.
In the first paragraph, you will describe a likely situation with possible results. It is important that you use clear descriptions of why the situation is likely and the outcomes are possible.
For the second paragraph, you are going to write about an unlikely situation with improbable or impossible results. You must also use clear descriptions of why the situation is unlikely and the results are improbable or impossible.
Be sure to follow the basic paragraph structure that you learned in Unit 1:
Paragraph Structure
Topic Sentence
- This sentence has the main idea of the paragraph. In these two paragraphs, your main ideas will be conditional expressions. An easy way to form a good conditional expression is to imagine yourself in the likely or unlikely situation.
Supporting Sentences
- Give reasons that support why your conditional expression is likely or unlikely.
- Give as much detail as you can so the reader understands your situation.
- Try to use coordinators and transitions to connect your ideas.
- Try to use conditionals to explain your answer clearly.
Concluding Sentence
- A final sentence to leave the reader with something to think about.
