Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a review of Grammar - Present Simple.
The following vocabulary words are used in this activity:
Part One: Warm Up
Work with a partner. Together, discuss your usual, everyday routine:
- What do you usually do in the morning?
- What do you do in the afternoon?
- What do you do in the evening?
Part Two: Listening
Work with a partner. You are going to hear Joe talk about his everyday routine with a woman.
Listen to the woman's question in the first recording. What is a possible answer he could say? Make a guess with your partner.
Then listen to the second recording. Was your guess similar to Joe's answer? For the women's second question, again, discuss with your partner what you think his answer could be. Continue this way for each of the recordings.

Every day, I wake up at 7 o'clock in the morning.
Person 1: Why do you wake up at 7 o'clock in the morning?
Person 2: Because I leave my house at 8 o'clock.
Person 1: Where do you go at 8 o'clock?
Person 2: I go to work.
Person 1: How do you get to work? Do you drive?
Person 2: No, I don't. I take a bus.
Person 1: How long does the bus ride take?
Person 2: It takes about half an hour.
Person 1: What time do you arrive at work?
Person 2: I arrive at work around 8.45.
Person 1: What do you do at your job?
Person 2: I'm a veterinarian.
Person 1: What's a veterinarian?
Person 2: A veterinarian is a doctor for animals.
Person 1: Do you like your job?
Person 2: Yes, I do. I love animals.
Person 1: Do you have any pets?
Person 2: No, I don't.
Person 1: Why not?
Person 2: Because I work too much. I often come home late.
Person 1: What time do you usually come home?
Person 2: I usually get home around 7 or 8.
Person 1: What do you do then?
Person 2: I make dinner and watch TV.
Person 1: What time do you go to bed every night?
Person 2: At around 11 or 12.
Person 1: I see. Thanks for answering all my questions.
Person 2: No problem.
