In this introductory module, we will build awareness of how our cultural upbringings and experiences have formed our own views on culture (our own and others’). We’ll explore a foundational concept of culture along with some of its elements; use the Iceberg Model as a visual representation of cultural features above and below the waterline; distinguish cultural behaviors from those interpreted as personal or universal; and explore the numerous identities that make each of us a ‘multicultural’ being.
