Because fiction needs actions to create a story, we need characters to carry out these actions. In fiction, there are 3 types of characters:
Characters
Protagonist
A protagonist is the main character of a story. Stories in fiction are about protagonists.
Antagonist
The antagonist is the main character's enemy. The antagonist does not have to be a person; it can be an animal, nature, or even an idea (like poverty).
