So, Emily, I heard you'd like to be a politician at some point in your life. I'm surprised. You know it's a pretty hard life being a politician, don't you?

Oh, come on. There are lots of good politicians. People like them and treat them with respect.

You mean the honest ones.

Exactly. The honest politicians in the world trying to improve things and help people.

Yeah, I guess, but it just seems like so many politicians lie and steal. A lot of them can be influenced by money, can't they?

Not all of them. I think you're focusing too much on the bad ones, you know, the ones you always read about in the papers and you see on the news. You never really hear about all the work the good politicians of the world do.

No, I suppose you're right. So that's why you want to be a politician? To help others?

Exactly.

You don't want to be one just so you can live the life of a celebrity? Drive nice cars? Live in a mansion? Travel the world? Eat for free at expensive restaurants?

Not really. I mean, all of that stuff would be cool, but it sure isn't the main reason for becoming a politician. I really just want a career in which I focus on making the world a better place, you know? Work for the public.

Okay, I'm impressed. But how would you deal with all of the attention? I mean, everything a politician does and says is in the public eye, especially these days with smartphones and the internet. You wouldn't have much privacy in your life, would you?

No, I wouldn't. That definitely would be a hard part of the job.

I would hate it. I mean, not being able to go out without everyone knowing who you are watching you? No thank you.

I don't think it's that bad.

No? Well, I still think you're crazy for wanting to become a politician.

You're probably right. But I guess we'll see, won't we?
