A noun will always tell us if something is a person, a place or a thing.

- Mother, father, brother, and sister are all people.
- Pencil, pen, and book are all things.
Nouns can be divided into 2 kinds: proper nouns and common nouns.
A proper noun is the name of a person, place, or thing. A proper noun always begins with a capital letter.
