Part One: Warm Up
Discuss the following questions with your partner(s).
- Have you ever attended a seminar, workshop, talk, or conference for work, school, or as part of an organization? If so, briefly describe one that you went to.
- Have you ever participated in any of the above-mentioned functions? If so, what was your role? For example, were you presenting, volunteering, or part of a team that was presenting?
- How do you feel about speaking in front of a large group of people that you may not know? Have you ever done this before?
- What is different between making a formal introduction and introducing, for example, a friend? What do you do differently in each situation?
Part Two: Getting Ready to Speak
In daily life, casual introductions are usually quick and easy.
