“A” and “AN”
'A' and 'AN' mean the same, but they are used with different words.
- A is used if it is before a consonant
- b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y
- a dog
- a teacher
- a carrot
- a football
An is used before a vowel.
- a, e, i, o, u
- an apple
- an actor
- an elephant
- an octopus
