An essay prompt is a question or sentence that explains what you should write about.
Some essay prompts are questions. These are usually the easiest essay prompts.
- What is your favorite genre of music? Why?
- If you could visit any country, which one would you visit?
- What can America do to stop air pollution?
For a question prompt, you answer the question and then explain your reasons. Here are example outlines for the essay prompts above:
