A linking verb connects the subject with words in the predicate of a sentence. It tells what the subject is or is like.
Forms of the verb be are often used as linking verbs.
Use am, is, and are to show present time.
That girl is a kind person.
I am feeling sad.
The children are energetic.
Dad was building us a tree house.
They were skydiving last week.
