Refuting an argument
This is a forceful way of expressing a view. It means that you present an argument or view by first rejecting an argument that you do not agree with.
The following expressions are useful in refuting an argument.
- I am unconvinced that ...
- I don’t believe that ...
- Some people find it hard to accept that ...
- It is doubtful whether ...
- There is little evidence to support the view that ...
- It is unjustifiable to say that ...
- I disagree with the view/ argument that ...
- I am uncertain whether ...
