Part C of the Listening section focuses on three Long Talks. These talks consist of a lecture, usually from a university professor who is either male or female, that lasts from 60 to 90 seconds (about 150-250 words). The narrator introduces each of the four or five questions by its number following each talk. You will not see any of the talk or the questions printed and each question is played only one time. All parts of the Listening section are multiple choice, so all you will see will be the four answer choices. Here is an example of what you hear and what you see for this course:

In Number 38, the phrase “should be working on” shows there have been classes before this one but that the papers are still in process, so the second choice, "In the middle of the semester" is correct. In Number 39, the information is given directly, so the third choice "in two weeks", is correct. In Number 40, students are asked to have at least three “books” and “recent journals” and the first three choices do not include these correctly, so the fourth choice, “both books and journals,” is correct. In Number 41, the paper itself is 5 pages long, but it must include a “title page” and “reference list, making the total length seven pages.
