Many people enjoy eating out at restaurants. But imagine a restaurant that is inside a volcano, or one that is entirely made of ice, or one that is hanging from the sky! There are some very weird restaurants around the world. Today, we are going to read about some of the most unusual and interesting restaurants in the world.

Ka Ohelo

The Ka Ohelo restaurant in Hawaii is inside a volcano!  As guests eat their lamb chops, crab legs, or seafood, they can look out the window at the steaming fire pit.
Snow Castle Restaurant

The Snow Castle is a restaurant in Finland that is completely made of ice.  Even the tables are made of ice!  They recommend wearing a thick jacket, warm shoes, gloves, and a hat, since the temperature is always cool. This restaurant also has a Snow Hotel where people can spend the night in rooms made of snow.  Sounds like a “cool” experience!
The Ithaa Undersea Restaurant

Imagine eating your dinner 5 meters below the sea!  The Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is located under the sea and is completely made of glass.  Guests can munch on their food while watching fish and other sea creatures swim around them.
Dinner in the Sky

From under the sea to up in the sky!...

At Dinner in the Sky, guests eat their meals on a table hanging down 50 metres up in the sky! Guests can plan their sky dinners in lots of places around the world, including Paris, the Grand canyon and Istanbul. When someone needs to use the bathroom, the whole table has to come down to the ground! It's probably a good idea to go to the bathroom before starting dinner in the sky.
The Marton Theme Restaurant

From a restaurant with no toilets to a restaurant full of them!

The Marton Theme Restaurant in Taiwan is the world’s first toilet-themed restaurant.  This popular restaurant serves their food in dishes shaped as toilet bowls and chairs made from colourful toilets.  The guests sit around tables that are made from old bathtubs with glass covers.  This bathroom-themed restaurant gives clients a fun, laughter-filled dinner.
Dans la Noir

At Dans la Noir, customers eat their dinner in total darkness! They order and eat their food without being able to see anything at all. The servers at this restaurant are blind and guide the guests to their seats. This experience changes the way people think about food because people can think about the taste and smell rather than what it looks like.

Each of these restaurants gives people a unique dining experience.  There are many more unusual restaurants around the world, including one where the servers and cooks sing and dance, one with walls and a ceiling that change every twenty minutes, and one where robots serve guests their food.  Have you ever been to a weird and unusual restaurant?
