The Future with Be Going To

We are going to talk about how to use the future tense for the first part of this unit. One way of talking about things in the future is using "be going to." To form the future tense using "be going to," you need a form of "be" + going to, followed by a verb.

Affirmative sentences

subject - be - going to

I am going to walk to school.
You are
He, She, It is
We, You, They are

Contractions

I'm going to walk.

You're going to walk.

He's going to walk.

She's going to walk.

It's going to walk.

We're going to walk.

You're going to walk.

They're going to walk.

Add "not" before "going to" if you want to make it negative.

To form yes/no questions using "be going to," just reverse the "subject" + be.
