Listening is important to effective communication because it is;
- The means by which both parties absorb the exchange of intent
- The means by which verbal and nonverbal responses and feedback are processed
Increasing how well we listen produces a number of significant benefits. It improves productivity, reduces miscommunications, and strengthens our ability to negotiate, influence, and persuade.
