An introduction to the days of the week, including spelling, correct preposition usage, pluralization and abbreviations.

Ordinal numbers

Students are introduced ordinal numbers up to 31. Students use ordinal numbers to express dates correctly in English.

Occupations & Places of employment

Common professions and places of work are studied so that students can talk more easily about their personal situations.

3-1 Question Form

Questions are practiced in affirmative, negative and interrogative forms in the present simple.

3-1 Yes / No questions

At this stage, students only focus on asking and responding to yes / no questions in the present simple using the verb TO BE.

3-1 People

Students read about different people and information about their lives and answer a series of questions. Students are expected to recognize nationalities, ages and professions.

3-1 Write about the following people.

A writing activity in which students read basic information about people and write small paragraphs using the given information. Students are able to practice nationality, age and profession in written form.

3-1 Listen to the conversations

A listening activity based on the grammar and vocabulary studied in unit three. Students listen to dialogues and answer a series of questions.

3-1a Which occupation do these famous people do?

Students look at pictures of famous artists and discuss their nationality and their profession.

3-1b Charades

An interactive class activity to practice professions. This activity has a speaking and listening activity.

3-1c Passports of people around the world.

Students look at personal pages in different passports from around the world and choose a new identity. Pairwork allows students to practice new grammar and vocabulary from unit three.
