In Unit 6 we studied Adjective Clauses. As we learned, Adjective Clauses are clauses that describe nouns.
- The RN who I met was Kristoph.
- The country that I visited was Argentina.
- Is the nurse sitting next to the cardiologist new?
- The leg which I x-rayed is broken.
In Unit 7 we are going to study clauses that function as nouns. They do not describe nouns. There are three basic types of Noun Clauses:
- Noun Clauses that start with a question word (where, what, how, who, when, why)
- Japan is where he studied medicine.
- Noun Clauses that start with (whether or if):
- Do you know if I can catch a cold by kissing my girlfriend?
- Noun Clauses that start with (that):
- I think that you are right about your advice.
