Do you know what a pet is? A pet is an animal. A pet lives at home with you.
A dog can be a pet. Dogs have fur. Dogs like to play outside. Dogs like a hug. Dogs like to be stroked. Dogs can be very small or very big!
Dogs are very clever. Some dogs help humans. They can understand us when we tell them what to do.
A cat can be a pet. Cats have fur, too. Cats like to scratch. Cats like to sleep in the sun. Cats can play with toys!
A hamster can be a pet. Hamsters like to dig. Hamsters like to use their teeth.
A bird can be a pet. Birds have feathers. Some birds can talk! They listen to humans. They speak back.
A fish can be a pet. Fish have scales. They live underwater. Fish can come in many colours. Fish can come in many sizes.
A turtle can be a pet. A turtle has a shell. It needs to live in a warm place. It needs to swim.
