A Lot Of
Use a lot of with countable and uncountable nouns:
She is eating a lot of grapes.
Is there a lot of sugar in the cake?
The woman has a lot of friends.
Many
Use many with countable nouns:
He has many friends.
Are there many customers in the store?
The house doesn't have many rooms.
Much
Use much with uncountable nouns:
There's not much water.
She doesn't eat much fruit.
Do you speak much Chinese?
Much is not common in positive sentences. Use a lot of instead:
There is much food on the plate.
There is a lot of food on the plate.
He has much money.
He has a lot of money.
A Few
Use a few with countable nouns:
There are only a few apples.
A few people are sitting.
He is with a few friends.
A Little
Use a little with uncountable nouns:
She's eating a little fish for dinner.
I don't have much money. I only have a little.
He likes to have soup with a little bread.
