Speaking activity
Find out who owns the item.
Students work as a class for this activity. The teacher stands outside the class with a bag or box and students go out one at a time to add a personal item to the bag, such as a pencil, pen, watch, etc.. These objects are then redistributed to all the students in the class so that each has an object that is not their own.
Students stand up and mingle to locate the owner of the object they are holding, saying things such as "You're a smoker, so this lighter is yours, isn't it?" or "You always take notes with a pencil, so this is your pencil, isn't it?". Students should focus on using question tags in their questions.
