  • What makes a movie a "good movie"? Be specific and discuss the following components of a film:
    • cast (actors)
    • performance (acting)
    • plot (story)
    • script
    • director
    • costumes and set
    • special effects
    • cinematography
  • What is an example of a good movie? Why do you think so?
  • What is an example of a mediocre or disappointing movie? Why do you think so?

Your assignment for this unit is to write a movie review. Here is the structure that you should follow:

Paragraph One: Summary

  • Introduce
    • Give the title and the name/s of the main actor/s.
    • You may also want to include the director's name and the genre of film.
  • Summarize
    • Include the main points of the story without giving too much detail.
    • Be objective: do not include your opinion.

Paragraph Two: Evaluation

  • Give your opinion
    • Was it a good movie or a disappointing movie? Did it have strong points and weak points?
    • Support your opinion by including specific details about the acting, story, special effects, music, etc.
