Inversion (Question Word Order)
Many questions in English follow the pattern: Question Word + Auxiliary Verb + Subject + Verb
- Where did you go?
- What are you going to sanitize?
- Who should I call?
- How are you doing?
- How have you been?
If questions are asking for a yes or no answer, we of course, do not need a question word: Auxiliary Verb + Subject + Verb
- Are you going to the graduation?
- Could you give me a hand with this patient?
- Do I have to come?
