Intro Student One Student Two

  • Students work in pairs and open the corresponding pages below.
  • Students read their situations to their partners. Partners listen to the situations and offer strong advice and a consequence.
  • Strong advice should contain the form, "had better," or "had better not."

Example:

I forgot my girlfriend's birthday.

You had better buy her flowers or she will leave you.

  7. I have lost my passport.
  8. I haven't taken a shower in two days.
  9. I am planning to take a vacation next week, but I haven't told the school.
  10. I have been invited to a party but am afraid because I know someone is going to be there that really hates me.
  1. I parked my bicycle outside without a lock.
  2. My favourite place to smoke in Vancouver is in front of doorways.
  3. I have to get into an English university within six months.
  4. I have been spending a lot of money lately.
  5. My tooth has been killing me lately.
  6. Immigration called me this morning and left a message.
  7. I'm planning to eat at the most popular restaurant in Vancouver this evening with six of my friends.
  8. I haven't paid my cell phone bill in three months.
  9. I am thinking about shaving my head.
  10. I am planning to go hiking and go off of the trails.
