You will be able to
- enhance listening skills by watching and listen and repeat examples of requesting clarification and repetition;
- compare the use of clarification and repetition in your language with that of the US;
- pronounce and use clarification questions such as I'm sorry? Excuse me? What was that? and Could you repeat that, please? with appropriate intonation;
- recognize and use echoing and upspeak to ask for clarification;
- recognize and use a variety of ways to show you understand (eg, Okay, all right, got it, etc.);
- reflect on your learning in a written/oral journal format.
