Sounding friendly
What does it mean to "sound friendly"? Listeners think someone is friendly when
- the pitch of your voice is higher than usual;
- your pitch is more varied (goes up and down);
- your pitch goes up ⤴︎ at the end.
It’s important to remember to keep your voice friendly when you paraphrase and check your understanding.
