| Vowel + Consonant, double the consonant and add “-ed”. |
hug → hugged plan → planned |
| Exceptions: “w, x, y” |
row → rowed fix → fixed play → played |
| Verbs that end with a consonant and “-y”, remove the “-y” and add “-ied”. |
study → studied cry → cried |
