Discuss the following questions with your partner(s).
- Who is someone you admire?
- The Oxford Learner’s Dictionary defines an icon as “a famous person or thing that people admire and see as a symbol of a particular idea, way of life, etc.” Who are some icons from your culture’s history? What made them icons?
- What is a social problem? Can you think of any social problems happening in your country or around the world?
- Can regular people help solve social problems? How?
- What are civil rights? Do some research and give some examples.
