Space stations are large, man-made satellites. They are used as a base where humans can go to in order to perform missions in space.
observatory
An observatory is a building made to study natural phenomena. Space observatories are buildings with large telescopes that can observe space objects.
telescope
A telescope is an instrument with an eyepiece and mirrors inside that people use to observe objects in space.
laboratory
A laboratory is a place where scientists work on their research.
rover
A rover is a machine made to navigate planets. It often has wheels to allow it to roll along the surface.
satellite
A satellite is any object in space that orbits around something else. There are man-made satellites in space and there are natural satellites in space, such as planets and moons.
space suit
Clothes that astronauts wear when they are out in space to protect them.
