A simile is a great tool used in language. It is a way of comparing things, and it can be very useful. If you look, you might find similes in lots of books and movies.

First, we have to learn how to make comparisons by using the word 'as'.

as + adjective / adverb + as + subject

We use this structure to show that two things have the same amount, or are the same.

We often use the phrase 'just as' to emphasize that the first thing is as good or bad as the second thing.

We can also use this structure with nouns.

For count nouns, we use the word 'many'.
