The present simple is used to talk about habits, routines and facts.
El presente simple es usado para hablar acerca de los hábitos, las rutinas y los hechos.

* In English we ALWAYS need a subject with the verb in the simple present.

Third Person singular Rules (HE/SHE/IT)

  • Add “-s” at the end of most verbs.
    Pon “-s” al final de la mayoría de los verbos.
    • run / walk / sing
      correr / caminar / cantar
      • he runs
      • she walks
      • it sings
  • Add “-es” at the end of verbs that end with -ch/ -sh / -o / -x / -s.
    Pon “-es” al final de los verbos que terminan con -ch / -sh / -o / -x / -s
    • teach / wash / go / fix / kiss
      enseñar / lavar / ir / arreglar / besar
      • He → teaches
      • She → washes
      • It → goes fixes
      • kisses
  • Add “-ies” at the end of verbs that end with a consonant and “y”.
    Pon “-ies” al final de los verbos que terminan con un consonante y “y”.
    • fly / cry / marry / fry
      volar/ llorar / casarse / freír
      • He → flies
      • She → cries
      • It → marries fries
