There are lots of musical instruments. They all sound different. Making your own at home is easy. You can start making your own music!
Do you have any old containers at home? If you do, you can make a shaker.
You can use an old bottle or even an old toy. Put some rice inside. Make sure that it is closed. You have a shaker. It will make a nice noise when you shake it.
Another easy instrument to make is a drum. You can use an old can or an old tub.
Put some paper around the can or tub. Put some plastic over the top. When you hit the plastic, it makes a noise. It will make a sound like a bang. Why not use sticks to play your new drum? You will sound like a rock star!
A fun instrument to make at home is a pipe. You can use old straws to make a pipe. Start with 8 straws. Cut your straws. Some will be long and some will be short. That is a good thing. It makes the sound different!
Then, tape them together. Blow through the straws. The air will make a noise. Musical instruments are simpler than they look.
Now you have lots of ways to make music. Why not make a band with your friends? Who knows what might happen!
