In English the use of “I” is always capital when talking about the first person singular.

The use of “you” is formal and informal and can be singular or plural.

Verb “TO BE”- Present

The verb “TO BE” is very important in English. The verb “TO BE” is used with:

  • role → She is a teacher. I am a student.
  • location → Paris is in France. The cat is under the table.
  • adjectives → Bill Gates is rich. Angelina Jolie is pretty.
  • age → I am 23. Paul is 19 years old.

Affirmative Form

I I am → I’m
you you are → you’re
he he is → he’s
she is → she’s
it is→ it’s
you (plural) you are → you’re
we we are → we’re
they they are → they’re
