Objectives & Sequence: This lesson is intended to be used as a review of Grammar 12-2.
Students work in pairs and open the corresponding pages below. This activity is to practice the two different ways to report speech. Students take turns reading their Direct Speech sentences to their partners. An example of such a sentence would be:
Could you open the garage door?
As we have learned in Grammar 12-2, this sentence can be reported two different ways:
- "You asked me if I could open the garage door."
- "You asked me to open the garage door."
Students listen to the Direct Speech sentences and try to report them both ways. As the answers are written under each sentence, partners should help each other if necessary.
