This is another way to make comparisons. With this phrase, we do not need to change the form of the adjective. Also, we do not use than:
Today, it isn't as warm as yesterday.
Streets aren’t as wide in Japan as they are in my country.
Canada isn't as big as Russia.
My computer isn't as nice as yours.
Compare the two kinds of comparisons:
The new GPS is more confusing than the old one.
The old GPS isn't as confusing as the new one.
Tokyo is bigger than Toronto.
Toronto isn't as big as Tokyo.
My father's Volvo is older than my mother's Volvo.
My mother's Volvo isn't as old as my father's Volvo.
