For this Presentation, you'll be given an article by your instructor. It will be presented in groups of two or three students, depending on your class and again, you will need to choose your partner or partners and let your instructor know before you begin your work.
You will be assigned one of the 7 links below and must use that article, and that article only, for your next presentation. They are all from Scientific American.
- What the Supercool Arctic Ground Squirrel Teaches Us about the Brain's Resilience
- How Big a Battery Would It Take to Power All of the U.S.?
- Wasting Away: Can a Gates Foundation-Funded Toilet-Design Initiative End a Foul Practice in the Developing World?
- Drug-Resistant Malaria Spreads, Scientists Hunt Down Genetic Causes
- Scents and Senescence: "Old Person Smell" Is Real, but Not Necessarily Offensive
- Scientists Harness Human Power for Electricity
- Would You Like a Side of Dirt with That?
With your group, read your article completely and take notes on it. You do not need to bring it to your instructor for approval but should still prepare a Thesis Statement to help clarify your understanding. Ask your instructor when your Outline is due.
