Work in a group of 3-4 students. Discuss the following warm-up questions / activities:

- Brainstorm words related to immigration for two minutes in Exercise 1:
- What would you do?:
- You want to move to the US, which is a much richer country than your own.
- Unfortunately, you and your family have tried several times and failed to get a visa. Without a visa, which may take many years to get, you can't live and work there legally.
- Would you go to America as a legal immigrant or as an illegal immigrant? If you get caught as an illegal immigrant, you won't be able to return to the US for ten years.
- Do you agree or disagree? Why?
- Immigration should be strictly limited.
- Immigrants steal jobs from a country's citizens.
- Immigrants are important, especially in countries with a low birthrate.
- Immigrants should have to learn the host country's language.
