Students expand their knowledge about explaining present situations by connecting past actions.

Indefinite Vs. Definite Past

Students learn how to explain completed actions that have occurred in either finished or unfinished time periods.

Grammar
5-1 Unfinished Actions or States

Students practice using the present perfect simple to describe duration of unfinished states as well as the present perfect continuous to describe duration of unfinished actions.

5-2 Present Results

Students review using the present perfect simple to describe past completed actions with present results as well as longer, possibly unfinished actions with the present perfect continuous.

5-3 Indefinite Past

Students learn to use the present perfect simple to describe actions that have completed in unfinished time periods vs. using past tenses for actions that completed in finished time periods.

Listening activity based on a description of blogs and their popularity.

5-3 The Social Media Revolution

An activity based on a video describing the growth and popularity of the Internet. Video does not contain audio, but rather displays text, much like an infographic.
