Part One
Students work with a partner and decide which person is going to be Student One, and who is going to Student Two. For each of the situations listed below, the pair of students should read the information and then create an improvised dialogue about the situation. When finished, students are to go on to the next situation.
This is a speaking activity and should not require any writing or preparation by the students.

Student One and Student Two are husband and wife. You are discussing how to prepare for a natural disaster. What kinds of things should you keep in your home to prepare? Where should you meet in case you can't go home? Are there any other things you should plan out?
Student One and Student Two are friends. There was a large earthquake during the day while you were both at school and you are relieved to see that you are both safe. Tell each other about where you were and what you experienced when the earthquake happened.
Student One lives in Florida, USA. Student Two is Student One's mother or father and lives in New York. Florida always gets strong hurricanes so Student One's mother or father thinks Student One should move somewhere safer. Student One loves Florida and doesn't want to move.
Student One and Student Two are boyfriend and girlfriend. Student One loves danger and always wants to chase storms. This means he or she wants to go close to bad storms and experience the crazy weather. Student Two wants Student One to stop doing this because it is too dangerous. If Student One doesn't stop, Student Two wants to break up.
Part Two
Do the activity again, but this time, work with a different partner.
