Verbs Followed by ~ING or TO + INFINITIVE

We can use a number of verbs followed by another verb in the ~ING form:

  • I simply adore listening to music in the garden.
  • How can they justify spending so much!

Some of these verbs are related in meaning. Verbs that we commonly use in this way include:
