Part One
Work with a partner. To practice the difference between noun and verb phrases, work together and make sentences in the first person singular with both want and would like with the words below:
Example #1:
some coffee
- I want some coffee.
- I would like some coffee.
Example #2:
take a shower
- I want to take a shower.
- I would like to take a shower.
- get married
- be an artist
- practice the guitar
- a large cup of coffee
- eat an apple
- save money
- improve my English
- quit my job
- some lunch
- speak to a doctor

- have a seat

- some medicine
Part Two
Intro Student One Student Two Student Three Student Four
Students work in a group of three to four and open the corresponding pages. Students should take turns asking and answering the questions on their pages using want and would like.
- What country would you like to go to?
- Would you like to go surfing sometime in the future?
- Do you want to learn Japanese or Chinese?
- Do you want homework tonight?
- What time would you like to go to bed tonight?
- Which movie do you want to see?
- What kind of job do you want to have?
- What do you want to do this evening?
- Would you like to learn about photography?
- Would you like to have many pets?
- Do you want to have kids?
- What do you want to study in the future?
